EMILY’s List backs two House candidates
EMILY’s List, a Democratic political action committee (PAC) that supports female candidates who favor abortion rights, has added two House contenders to its list of endorsements for the 2012 cycle.
The PAC will back Michelle Lujan Grisham in New Mexico and Stacey Lawson in California. Both are running for open seats.

Lawson surges in fund-raising for North Coast congressional race
Three-term Assemblyman Jared Huffman and political newcomer Stacey Lawson emerged Wednesday as the leading fund-raisers in a highly competitive race for the North Coast seat in Congress.
Huffman, D-San Rafael, reported $586,131 in donations last year, retaining his top spot in campaign cash.
Lawson, a San Rafael businesswoman making her first run for public office, collected $455,959.

Three candidates for the Congressional District 2 seat discuss their plans for improving health care, the local economy and harbor dredging, among other topics. Lawson cites her Progressive political beliefs combined with her experience in business and economics as solutions to these problems: “I’m a progressive Democrat with 20 years of experience in the economy.”
