I’m told it’s a good sign that I’m being attacked by my opponents – it shows that I’m one of the frontrunners. But I honestly wish we could have a debate on the issues that voters care about – putting Californians and all Americans back to work.
Ours is the only campaign that has put forward detailed, concrete plans to get our local, state and national economy moving again – yet some of my opponents answer with personal attacks instead of ideas of their own.
That’s why I’ve challenged them today to put their ideas on the table – Let’s have a debate about better policies, not politics-as-usual attacks.

Stacey Lawson to Opponents: “Put Your Ideas on the Table”
Candidate for 2nd Congressional District challenges opponents to promote better policies, not politics-as-usual
(San Rafael, CA) — Educator and small business owner Stacey Lawson went on the offensive today against a series of personal attacks by opponents trying to knock her out of a leading spot in the “top two” primary election for the newly drawn 2nd Congressional district.
“I’m staying focused on attacking our problems – so we can get our economy moving again and finally begin to rebuild America’s middle class,” said Lawson. “I challenge my opponents to join me in making this a campaign about better policies, not politics-as-usual.”
Candidates Norman Solomon and Susan Adams have spent their dwindling campaign dollars on hit pieces against Lawson that attack Lawson personally instead of debating Lawson’s ideas and plans or offering their own. Weekend reaction on social media has been highly critical of the attacks.
“Why am I the only candidate talking about solutions? Ours is the only campaign that has put forward detailed, concrete plans to get Californians and all Americans back to work,” Lawson continued. “My opponents answer with personal attacks. This kind of politics-as-usual sums up everything that is wrong in Sacramento and Washington, D.C.”
Lawson concluded with a challenge to her opponents: “Put your ideas and plans on the table – California voters deserve a debate about better policies, not the same kind of Sacramento- and Washington-style politics that got us into this mess in the first place.”
Lawson has published a detailed middle-class jobs plan – Making More in America: How Restoring America’s Manufacturing Strength Can Help Rebuild America’s Middle Class – available at StaceyLawson.com, iTunes and Google (for Android phones).
The plan is built around seven priorities with multiple specific proposals, including increasing lending to small businesses, expanding local niche manufacturing in the district, investing in education and vocational training, modernizing our infrastructure and restoring middle-class buying power through fairer tax policies.
Lawson, who co-founded and teaches at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at UC Berkeley, started a company that helps keep middle-class jobs here in America by creating new technology that enables U.S. manufacturers to compete in the global marketplace. She is the only candidate in the race with real-world experience creating jobs and helping small businesses grow.
